First date at the altar familiar from the program Niina Pitkänen The Puuhamaa day ended harshly. He and his family were having a nice day when his condition started to deteriorate significantly. A wild chain of events started with a visit to the doctor, but now he is already recovering.
Like that First date at the altar spouse met in the program Lari Köymäri answers the phone over the noise of family discussions. Lari is at full speed for a 3.5-year-old Carolina and a 10-month-old Leon with. Niina’s recovery will take a long time, and she can’t really speak.
Lari says that they agreed that he will not comment in great detail about Niina’s health issues. However, Niina wanted to post about it on Instagram to tell about her health and to thank the medical care system, nurses and doctors.
The situation suddenly worsened
Lari and Niina’s family has had a typical family illness in the spring. Baby Leo has had a series of ear infections, and this is probably how Niina got the bug.
Niina had had a sore throat and swelling in her throat for a few days. The day before Puuhamaa, the family was in Tykkimäki.
– We had a lot of fun, Lari says.
The next day in Puuhamaa, Lari and Karoliina were swimming and Niina and Leo were on a sun lounger. Then the condition suddenly worsened, which is why they headed to the emergency room in Riihimäki.
– It was a really serious matter and [Niina] had to go to intensive care because of it and was in the hospital for a week in real pain, Lari describes the course of the situation.
According to Lari, recovery from intensive care and procedures takes several weeks, even months.
– Now the situation is that we are steadily moving in a better direction, he says.
Niina was in Meilahti hospital on a ventilator, as she said in her Instagram post.

Good news coming
Lari describes that in general the couple has taken a little break from social media. However, he promises that he and Niina have planned some sort of update on what life entails.
– We may have good news to share in that post, but maybe it’s not worth writing about at the moment, he says mysteriously.
Life is busy with two small children and there are no dull days. Lari will first have summer vacation and then parental leave. Work matters are forgotten while hanging out with the family.
– I don’t even remember that I’ve ever been at work, Lari carves.
Niina and Lari met each other First date at the altar in the program in 2021. The couple’s first child, Karoliina, was born in November 2022, and Leo in August 2025. The couple’s relationship progressed rapidly in the program, as the couple moved in together already during filming.
