On the 4th stage of the Tour de Suisse, Tadej Pogcar secured the next day’s victory. However, things were really tight in the time trial.
In the yellow jersey of the overall leader, Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) crossed the finish line fastest on Saturday (June 20, 2026) after 26:37 minutes – just a wafer-thin 0.3 seconds ahead of Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Premier Tech), who had been leading for a long time. Third place on the 23.8 kilometer long course to Aarburg went to former time trial world champion Tobias Foss (Netcompany Ineos), who remained six seconds behind Pogacar.
Nils Politt, Pogacar’s important helper, was the best German in 14th place (+0:43 seconds).
Pogacar has overall victory in mind
In the overall ranking, Pogacar, who had already secured the yellow jersey on the first stage with a 70-kilometer solo ride, remains comfortably in the lead. Second-placed Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) is already 4:22 minutes behind in second place. With success in the preparation race for the Tour de France (from July 4th), Pogacar would close another gap in his title collection.
The 5th and final stage on Sunday takes the peloton over 150.7 kilometers on a circuit to and from Villars-sur-Ollon and over the Col de la Croix, a climb of the highest category, three times at different points.
