A 14-year-old cyclist lost her life following a serious accident that occurred along the provincial road that crosses the Pressano hill, a hamlet of Lavis. The victim is AC, an athlete of the Asd Bike Movement Trentino Erbe engaged in the Student category and resident in Lavis. The alarm went off a few minutes before 1pm along the stretch of road that leads to the farms in the hamlet.

According to initial reconstructions, the young woman was cycling downhill when she collided head-on with a car traveling in the opposite direction, uphill. The impact was violent: she was thrown over the guardrail, suffering very serious injuries. Rescue services with ambulance, air ambulance, Lavis volunteer firefighters and local police officers intervened on site. There was nothing that could be done for the girl: her death was confirmed at the scene of the accident. Last year the girl won the provincial title among the second year Women’s Rookies and this season she confirmed herself with important results.

To pay homage to the girl, the Italian Cycling Federation has ordered that a minute of silence be observed tomorrow before the start of all cycling competitions.
