“No more room for dialogue”: President of Bolivia declares a state of emergency after weeks of protests

In Bolivia, President Rodrigo Paz declared a state of emergency on Saturday after more than six weeks of street protests and roadblocks. According to him, there is no longer room for dialogue with the demonstrators. “Bolivians can no longer be held hostage by blockades that prevent them from working, studying, receiving medical care and bringing food home,” Paz said.
