Wolfgang Petry celebrates the golden anniversary of his stage. The pop star began performing his songs 50 years ago – and he is now celebrating with his very first song “Summer in the City”. However, the anniversary mood is not quite so golden: at least a relationship that has been frozen for 20 years could be rekindled. To the regret of many fans, Wolle has not been on stage for around 20 years. A post from Thursday with a countdown should change that.

“One more day… Are you excited yet?”

The countdown

Many fans were sure. A countdown had been visible on Wolfgang Petry’s Instagram profile for six days. That had to be what his stage comeback meant. “I want a TOUR!” says one of the comments. It quickly became clear in the comment columns: There has to be a tour announcement. But the fans got something completely different – a single. And this has happened before: His first single was released in a new edition for the 50th stage anniversary. One could be happy about new music, but the top comment – “Wake me up when there’s another tour!” – shows quite clearly what the fans think of it. But that’s not all.

The album

Along with the single, a new album was also announced for September. It is titled “A Life Long,” and a look at the album’s Spotify page already reveals the tracklist. It will contain a total of 13 songs, with titles like “Morgen Gold”, “Wolle” and “Because of you”. After 20 years away from the stage, many fans feel more like track 11: “I’ve waited a lifetime”.

But done. What is not can still become. An album announcement in September is not the equivalent of a tour announcement – but one could still follow. And if Wolle should decide to make his stage comeback and rekindle the old love for the golden wedding anniversary, all fans will finally know what he meant back then when he sang: “In love, lost, forgotten, forgiven…”
