The GP of the Czech Republic begins under the banner of Marc Marquez. The Ducati Spaniard set the best time of the first MotoGP free practice sessions in 1’53″303, ahead of Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) and Raul Fernendez (Aprilia Trackhouse) by 2 tenths. Marquez was immediately very fast, but it wasn’t a smooth session for him because he slipped at the end of the session in turn 7, ending up in the gravel but luckily for him resting on the asphalt and at low speed. No physical problem, but work interrupted while he was launched in search of even better weather.

diggia is eighth

The best of the Italians was Pecco Bagnaia with the other Ducati, sixth, 376 thousandths behind Marquez. Fabio Di Giannantonio was eighth on the Ducati VR46, ninth was Pedro Acosta, who crashed more disastrously than Marquez and at the start of the session. Not an exceptional start for the two official Aprilias: world leader Marco Bezzecchi was 16th fastest, almost 9 tenths behind Marquez, while Jorge Martin was 14th ahead of Franco Morbidelli, but interrupted his work prematurely by parking his bike on the track due to a fault.
