Bayern leads, Alba fights

The game was tight from the start. In the first quarter, neither team was able to significantly break away from the other. Nenad Dimitrijević was particularly convincing
for Bayern, who finished the period with nine points and a perfect shooting percentage from the field.

It wasn’t until the middle of the second quarter that the Munich team were able to take the lead with 39:30 thanks to an eight-point run, but Alba fought back bit by bit, so that the deficit was reduced to three points at the break.

Wood gives Berlin its first lead of the second half

After the break, the back and forth of the first two sections continued. The Berliners were toxic and repeatedly caused problems for Bayern, which enabled Moses Wood to give Alba their first lead since the first period with a long two-point throw just under two minutes before the end of the third quarter.

However, the final exclamation mark of the quarter belonged to former Berliner Niels Giffey, who, with a cracking dunk, brought the score back to 61:60 for the guests with the half-time siren. The match now became increasingly emotional. Hard fouls alternated with unnecessary mistakes and also strong hits, but Bayern showed better nerves and kept the home team at bay despite the frenetic fans in the Max-Schmeling-Halle.

Bayern’s Dimitrijević was the best scorer of the game

The best scorer of the game was Dimitrijević, who ended up with 19 points and seven assists with an impressive shooting rate of 61.5 percent from the field. In addition to the North Macedonian, Vladimir Lucic also shone for Bayern, scoring 15 points and seven rebounds. Jack Kayil particularly stood out for Berlin. The point guard scored 17 points for his team and also contributed three rebounds and two assists.
