With more than 3,400 minutes of action, Ramon Hendriks was one of the most active players in the ranks of VfB Stuttgart in 2025/26. A circumstance that is said to have put the defender in BVB’s sights, among other things. In the country, however, they want to take a tough course with regard to the 24-year-old.
With a strong season, Ramon Hendriks from VfB Stuttgart has reportedly attracted interest from the competition. The “kicker” brought the Dutchman into conversation with BVB, “Sky” reported that Nottingham Forest are said to have targeted the defensive star. The TV station also stated that the country would only be willing to talk if a club threw at least 40 million euros into the ring.
However, “Sport Bild” now goes even further: According to this, Hendriks is simply “not for sale”.
Instead, Stuttgart should work on continuing the collaboration with the former Dutch youth international as quickly as possible beyond the summer of 2028.
It’s not just Hendriks who should extend his contract at VfB Stuttgart
VfB sports director Fabian Wohlgemuth also emphasized in March that Hendriks is valued enormously: “His profile fits very well with our dominance and control of the game. He is one of those who does very well in building up the game – even within the Bundesliga. When he dribbles, he sometimes reaches the opponent’s penalty area. This routine and calmness at this age is impressive,” enthused the sports director.
VfB brought the defensive player from Rotterdam to the Neckar in 2024 for a transfer fee of around one million euros. So far, Hendriks has played 80 competitive games for VfB Stuttgart.
In addition to Hendriks, Dan-Axel Zagadou will also remain loyal to VfB, according to “Sport Bild”. The Frenchman, who once again missed most of the 2025/26 season due to injury, is expected to extend his expiring contract, according to the report. Zagadou is very popular in the team and acts as an “anchor figure” in the dressing room.
