Apparently, further problems are looming for the tennis star. According to media reports, Madrid is now also checking whether its entry into Spain was legal around the turn of the year.
The controversy surrounding Novak Djokovic continues: According to new reports, the Spanish authorities are now investigating the tennis star. As the Spanish newspaper “Cope” reported, it is investigating whether the unvaccinated tennis star entered the country illegally at the end of December.
“Since September 20, citizens from Serbia have required a vaccination certificate or a special permit to enter Spanish territory, but the authorities say they have not yet received an application from Djokovic,” wrote tennis journalist Gaspar Ribeiro Lança on Twitter . “Cope” also reports that the athlete did not apply for a special permit.
Djokovic’s stay in Spain was first brought into focus because there was an error on the official form when he entered Australia in January. When asked whether he had left for Australia in the 14 days before his departure, his agent wrongly ticked “no”, Djokovic later explained.

Also investigate Serbia and Australia
In fact, during this time he had traveled from Serbia to Spain, where he trained before the first Grand Slam of the year. The “Soto Tennis Academy” in Marbella, Spain, had posted a video with Djokovic and his son on a training field – although he should have been in quarantine in Belgrade at the time (Here you can read the chronicle of the immigration farce around Novak Djokovic).
If the reports are confirmed, Djokovic will now be investigated in three countries: Australia, Serbia and Spain. Serbia is investigating whether it has violated the corona quarantine. The 38-year-old admitted to having attended an interview after testing positive.
