Belgian cycling champion Justine Ghekiere experienced a special moment at the top of Mont Ventoux. The rider from Izegem asked her girlfriend Charlotte to marry her.
The well-known ‘bald mountain’, which is 1,909 meters high and is a permanent fixture in cycling, thus took on extra personal meaning for the couple. Mont Ventoux will also be on the Tour de France Femmes route this summer.
Ghekiere literally took a knee at the top of the mountain and received a positive response. The news was then shared via social media. “My favorite ‘yes’ ever,” she wrote.
