The answer to the Netherlands, which made the score 1-0 with Virgil van Dijk in the 51st minute, came from Keito Nakamura 6 minutes later. The Netherlands took the lead 2-1 with the goal of Crysencio Summerville at the 64th minute. When the minutes showed 89 minutes, Japan equalized the score again with Daichi Kamada.


There were no goals scored in the remaining part of the match and the sides started the tournament with one point each.
