Renze Klamer walks the red carpet of the Amsterdam Dinner with quite a bit of star allure. He refuses to speak to the press present. “I’ll pass for a moment,” he says.

The Amsterdam Dinner annually raises money for the fight against HIV and AIDS. A noble goal, but anyone who looks at the red carpet, sees the outfits passing by and counts the cameras, still wonders what is actually central here. Hilversum puts on his best suit, smiles broadly at the photographers and posts the photos before dinner has even started.

Microphone included

Renze Klamer was also present. The man who succeeded RTL Tonight and thus antagonized Beau van Erven Dorens and Humberto Tan – they consider him a size-setter – of course knew perfectly well that there would be cameras and reporters on the red carpet. However, he chose to wave away the curious press.

Celebrity expert Bart Ettekoven at the desk Show news: “We couldn’t speak to him for months, but he also came across the red carpet at the Amsterdam Dinner. Well, you understand: the microphone was there, we had some questions.”

Unreachable

It has been impossible to speak to Renze recently, according to Bart. “He was really invisible and didn’t answer his phone at all. He hasn’t given any interviews at all since he stopped at RTL Late Night.”

He continues: “We really had some questions: what can we expect? How did he view the flopping of that late night program? Is he happy that he left on time? In short: a whole list of questions. We were ready and here he came!”

“I’m skipping!”

Renze doesn’t even come to the Shownieuws reporter. “I’ll skip it for a while, more information soon!”

The reporter: “But we want to talk about completely different things!”

Renze: “Yes, I know that one! Hahaha.”

The reporter: “But not yet?”

Renze: “No, coming soon, coming soon.”

The reporter: “But we just want to know how you are.”

Renze: “Yes, very good. Very good. But more information soon! Very soon! I think in a week or so. A week or two maybe. It will be fine, it will be fine.”

At all costs

Bart thinks it’s a bit strange. “It’s funny. You know how much press is there, but hey, maybe he wanted to be there at all costs because it’s a good cause.”

“There is of course a whole press plan behind it from RTL. In two weeks they will have a kind of press day in which we can ask him all about it.”
