FC Bayern is apparently pulling out a few levers behind the scenes to finally get the Portuguese international João Palhinha off the payroll. The German record champions are giving up a lot of money for this.

FC Bayern has apparently significantly reduced the transfer fee they originally demanded for João Palhinha. The Portuguese newspaper “Correio da Manhã” claims to have found this out.

The paper reports that the 30 million euros that were also stipulated in the loan agreement between FC Bayern and Tottenham are no longer necessary to get Palhinha. Instead, the people of Munich would now be satisfied with “only” 25 million euros.

If the midfielder were to end up selling for 25 million euros, FC Bayern would have made a big loss. In the summer of 2024, they put 51 million euros on the table to lure the now 30-year-old to Säbener Straße.

FC Bayern is aiming for a lightning transfer

According to “Correio da Manhã”, those responsible at Bayern are determined to finally get Palhinha off the payroll. Apparently this should happen as quickly as possible so that planning for the coming season can be further advanced.

The player himself should prefer to return to his Portuguese homeland. There has reportedly been contact with Sporting Lisbon for several weeks. In return, according to various reports, the midfielder is also prepared to adjust his salary requirements downwards.

In addition to Sporting, Tottenham is also currently hoping for a permanent commitment. At Spurs, after a weak season in Munich, Palhinha showed again that he could be an important player, even though he couldn’t save the Londoners from slipping deep into the bottom of the table.
