A cyclist was seriously injured on Saturday night in an accident on the Wolfsputterbaan (N279) in Helmond. She was hit by a motorist at the crossing at the Vlierdense Bosdijk.
The accident happened around a quarter to two in the morning. Due to the seriousness of the situation, in addition to the police and an ambulance, an air ambulance also came to Helmond. The trauma doctor treated the woman in the ambulance, after which she was taken to the Radboud Hospital in Nijmegen.
The police are investigating and have spoken to witnesses. The road was closed in both directions for the investigation.
