In the first match of the Turkish Insurance Basketball Super League play-off final series, Beşiktaş GAİN beat Fenerbahçe Beko 88-80 away and took the lead 1-0 in the series. Besiktas GAIN, which started the derby eagerly and achieved a 9-0 series in the first 1 minute and 50 seconds, completed the first period with a superior play and was ahead 27-16.
Fenerbahçe Beko recovered in the second quarter and was effective with the scoring game of Tarık Biberovic and reduced the difference to 1 point in the 13th minute: 27-28. The black-white team, which scored with Berk Uğurlu and did not allow the yellow-dark blue team to get ahead, went to the locker room with a 43-42 advantage.
This time, the host Fenerbahçe started the second half of the match with a 9-0 run and gained an 8-point lead in the 25th minute: 51-43. Beşiktaş quickly recovered with consecutive baskets and turned the score in its favor in the 29th minute with Berk Uğurlu’s free throws: 57-59. The black-white team entered the final period ahead 62-61.
Beşiktaş GAİN, who scored critical baskets from behind the 3-point line in the competitive fourth and last quarter, won the match 88-80 and took the lead 1-0 in the final series.
Fenerbahçe President Aziz Yıldırım also watched the derby. Yıldırım, who won the presidency again after 8 years by outperforming Hakan Safi in the general assembly with extraordinary elections on June 7, followed the match with his daughter Yaz Yıldırım, Ömer Onan and board member Barış Göktürk.
