A passerby raised the alarm on Saturday evening when a number of suspicious barrels stood along the road in Waalre. Large skulls were depicted on the barrels. A hazardous substances advisor was contacted, but the suspicion soon arose that the barrels had been used for something completely different.

The barrels were located on the Onze Lieve Vrouwendijk near the Dommel. The river runs about three meters behind the site. Traces could be seen from De Dommel, showing that they had probably been moved from the water to the roadside.

Striking: there was a pack of cookies on the barrels and a jerry can of water. And the barrels were empty. The suspicion is that the barrels were used by an association or scouting to build a raft with which they could sail on the Dommel.

The hazardous substances advisor was canceled and the police also continued with other work.
