Brazilian superstar Neymar is included in Brazil’s World Cup team after a three-year break. He last played for the national team in 2023.
Spanish football journalist and expert Guillem Balagué says that he talked about being part of the coaching staff of the Brazilian team Davide Ancelotti with just a few days before the official team announcement.
– I asked him about Neymar and he answered no, no, no, no, Balagué tells the BBC.
In the end, however, Neymar’s name was found on the list of those selected for the team.
Balagué says that he called Davide after the announcement of the team. Father of Davide Ancelotti Carlo Ancelotti serves as Brazil’s head coach.
– He told that his father thought that it is better to keep a player like him with him than to leave him out.
If Neymar had not been in the team, every defeat or problem would have been attributed to the fact that Neymar was not selected for the games.
– That’s why it was decided to include him, but only with strict rules.
Three conditions

Balagué reveals that three conditions were set for Neymar to get his place in the team.
First of all, he would not be part of the team’s captaincy. Secondly, he would be a substitute and probably wouldn’t start any matches. The third condition is that he limits his own use of social media.
– He agreed to all of this because he wants to be part of the team, Balagué says.
Next night, Brazil will face Morocco in the opening match of the World Cup. Neymar is not in the lineup because he is suffering from a calf injury.
He is expected to feature in Brazil’s second match against Haiti on Saturday, June 20.
