From June 11th to July 19th, the Football World Cup, the largest tournament in the history of football, will take place in the USA, Mexico and Canada. A total of 48 national teams are fighting for the title in 104 games over five and a half weeks.

Hummels makes a strange World Cup bet
Ex-BVB professional and 2014 world champion Mats Hummels made a strange bet with presenter Laura Wontorra in the preliminary coverage of the World Cup on MagentaTV. If the Scottish national team reaches the quarter-finals, the former central defender will host in the traditional kilt.
“If they surprisingly have a quarter-final with us, then… Oh God, I don’t even want to say it,” Hummels began. Wontorra then urged him even more. Ultimately, Hummels was persuaded and agreed.

The host USA achieved a convincing victory at the start of the World Cup against Paraguay on Friday with a 4:1 (3:0). The team immediately established themselves as favorites in their Group D. In addition to Paraguay, the US national team also faces Australia and Turkey.
