A car crashed into a bridge railing in Wijster early this morning. The accident happened on a bridge over the Linthorst Homankanaal on the Hamveld.
For unknown reasons, the driver lost control of the car around 5:15 am. The bridge railing prevented the car from entering the water.
There were several people in the vehicle. Several of them were slightly injured. One of them was taken to a hospital.
The car and the bridge fencing were severely damaged.
The cause of the accident is not yet known. The police are investigating whether the driver was under the influence.
