The reason for Sofia Virtra’s absence divides Finns’ opinions.

According to information from Iltalehti, the chairman of the Green Party Sofia Virta has been away from parliamentary work this week because he is participating Special forces– program descriptions.

Finns are talking about the reason for the power outage, for example, on Instagram, Facebook and the anonymous Jodel chat application. Some are excited to speculate how far Virta might get in the program. In the program, probationers are tested mentally and physically with tasks that simulate the selection test for special forces soldiers.

– To win.

– Well, you can’t win.

– Sofia Virta will be tough if Special Forces wins! Prime minister subject!

– I think he will go far because he wants to show off and people are interested.

– My guess is that Sofia will be dragged through by force.

– I hope he falls off the ride in the first few meters.

– I think this is a rather uninteresting king. All I’m thinking about is the physicality of Special Forces. I don’t know how Sofia managed to train in the middle of the rush.

Special Forces has been called Finland’s toughest reality TV show. In the photo, the trainers of the program Robin Hendry, Janne Lehtonen, Jan Knutti and Matias Petäistö and doctor Antti Oksanen. Four

Some Finns are not satisfied with Virtra’s participation in the TV program, especially after the information that came to light. According to the Central Chancellery of the Parliament, Virta has informed the Parliament that her absence is due to a personal reason, such as her own illness or that of a close relative.

– In normal working life, you can’t just leave the workplace without giving notice and participate in some program. You would get fired for that, especially if you are in a management position. So, Sofia Virta is neither the only nor the first. The parliament is quite a sheltered job.

– Pay off, like a regular employee. We can’t be off work for any reason either.

– Irresponsible.

– I think he has given personal reasons as the reason for his absence. In normal work, lying about the reason for the absence would be some kind of sanction, and at least you wouldn’t get paid.

– Couldn’t these MPs do their job during working hours and then describe these TV programs at other times?

– The reward has stopped, the time is not available.

– I hope the voters remember.

Many Finns are particularly concerned about whether parliamentarians should be allowed to participate in reality TV programs at all.

– A member of parliament should not participate in this during “working hours”, the taxpayers should not pay fees for that.

– How can you participate when you are a Member of Parliament? Should not be allowed to participate in such programs.

– Applies to all MPs. Such matters are not part of the task and cannot justify contacting the voters. Polishing your own brand.

– I agree with the majority that reality shows are not the place for a sitting member of parliament. But it’s worth remembering that Virta is by no means the only one who has been in the reality series.

Last year the Prime Minister Petteri Orpo (kok) took a position on the participation of ministers in reality TV programs. The issue was discussed, for example, after the MP Mika Poutala (kd) participated For special forces and finally passed the camp. Orpo said that he does not see any possibility for ministers to participate in reality TV programs, as they take a lot of time.

Speaker of the Parliament Jussi Halla-aho (ps), on the other hand, told Iltalehte on Friday that participating in a reality television program is not an acceptable personal reason to be absent. Halla-aho already said last fall that it is not possible to make an official absence report for participating in the entertainment program.

According to information from Iltalehti, also a member of parliament of the coalition Noora Fagerström has participated Special forces filming, but he is not involved in the same production season as Virra. Contacted by Iltalehti, Fagerström himself does not comment on the matter in any way. Iltalehti has not reached Virta.

About familiar politicians For special forces have previously participated Pinja Perholehto (s.d.), Ville Kaunisto (cook), Henna Virkkunen (cook) and Tom Packalén (p.s.).
