After an incredibly successful but equally exhausting season, overall World Cup winner Eric Perrot used the time without competition for a change of scenery. The Frenchman recently trained in Norway with two of his toughest competitors in the biathlon circus.
Over the past few days, Eric Perrot has been traveling through Norway in a van with his girlfriend Chloé Lacreuse. On the way to Tromsö, the couple stopped in Oslo.
Before the trip, the reigning world champion had expressed the hope to “Nordic Magazine” that he would “be able to train with some Norwegians along the way.”
His wish came true: As a picture on Instagram shows, Perrot was able to practice Laegreid on the legendary Holmenkollen together with Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen and Sturla Holm. Quite spicy, since the duo is one of the Frenchman’s strongest competitors.
But now the sporting rivalry was put to rest and the top stars exchanged ideas – of all places where Perrot had raised his first big crystal ball less than three months ago.
“It’s a nice way to start training in a slightly different way – a welcome change at the start of preparation,” said the 24-year-old, commenting on his special experience.
Biathlon superstar Perrot wanted a change in the air
Perrot has now arrived in Lillehammer with his partner.
“The decision to start the preparation in a slightly different way came from me,” revealed the ski hunter about his two-month period “without a permanent residence” in Norway.
Perrot said he needed it “after an intensive season”: “I think it’s a wonderful way to get back into it and it brings a breath of fresh air into the start of preparation.”
His plan for the coming weeks: “I will stick to the strategy that was agreed upon with the coaches and the association. This strategy is different. Training alone is a welcome change. It will help me find the right rhythm.”
