Maxime Meiland has received a lot of criticism for placing the litter box in her dining room, but she herself does not see the problem that way. It just turned out that way, and: “A diffuser also helps.”

The Meilandjes kept saying that they would absolutely not allow cameras in their new home because they wanted to protect their privacy from now on, but Maxime Meiland has now released a minutes-long house tour posted online. We see, among other things, how they made a litter box in the wall of the dining room. A strange place, say critics.

Diffuser

Why did Maxime do this? She now provides text and explanation Show news. “We thought a lot about: okay, how do you want to arrange it? After all, you can only do it once. Yes, of course I would have preferred that litter box in the living room, but yes, it didn’t work out that way, and that was actually a perfect spot.”

According to her, it is true that it can occasionally smell a bit, but, as she explains: “You put a cream spray, you know, or a diffuser, and it is also resolved.”

House tour

Why did Maxime actually do that entire house tour? “I was asked so often: can’t we take a look at your house? So then I also thought: yes, we would rather not have anything from the outside, that we film it, because then people can immediately see where we live, but from the inside, yes, that can’t actually do any harm.”

“I did that then and I was surprised at how many people viewed it. I actually thought that most of the reactions were very positive. People thought it was very beautiful. I also think that our interior is not very everyday.”

House sold

Sister Montana Meiland always keeps a distance from the family. She will, however, live closer to the family home of Maxime and her parents. “Her house has been sold, so that’s very nice. She has some overlap, so I’m guessing she will move in with us in the family home for a while.”

She concludes: “We live in Noordwijkerhout on the border of Noordwijk and she lives a little further into the center, but a very nice house. It is a fixer-upper, but she really wanted that. She will move in at the end of this year.”
