The Carolina Hurricanes tied the score again in the Stanley Cup final series against the Vegas Golden Knights thanks to a hard-earned victory.

The 5:3 in Las Vegas was the second success in the fourth duel “Best of seven”-Series. Everything is open again before the fifth meeting on Friday night. The two finalists alternately won and lost. The decision was made by a goal into an empty net 55 seconds before the end, when the hosts played without a goalkeeper and wanted to force an equalizer.

The Golden Knights want to win their second title within four years. In the nine years since NHL-Debut is the franchise from the US gambling metropolis in the final series for the third time. For the Hurricanes it’s about the second title 20 years after the first Stanley Cup-Triumph of their story.

Another spectacularly entertaining game

“Hectic like the whole series. He is a great player and has rewarded himself”said Hurricanes goalkeeper Brandon Bussi about the 4-3 win by Jordan Staal, who scored his second goal of the day while falling.

“I knew I had him”said Staal: “My goodness. My feet were tangled together. But I still got enough strength behind the shot. I saw the puck just cross the line. That was a great feeling. An important goal.”

McNabb unlucky

Vegas was unlucky that a supposed goal by Brayden McNabb in the first period didn’t count because the puck didn’t cross the line until a fraction of a second after the halftime siren. The defenseman once again played with a mesh over his face after taking a puck to the face in the first duel and requiring numerous stitches. The disallowed goal matched the high entertainment value of the series and the first third, in which the guests were already leading 2-0 after less than four minutes.
