The former Cologne candidate Silas Andersen is moving to Portugal. Sporting announced the signing of the defensive midfielder from BK Häcken. The 21-year-old received a contract until 2031, which is currently the longest term in the Portuguese league, and costs a fixed fee of 7.25 million euros plus 2.75 million euros in possible bonuses. The working paper also includes an exit clause worth 80 million euros.
Andersen becomes the record departure from Häcken together with Momodou Sonko, who left the Swedes in 2023/24 for the same amount. The Dane moved to his neighboring country in January 2025 and played a total of 57 games (nine goals, three assists) for the Allsvenskan club. In March he was the biggest winner in the market value update, jumping by one million euros to 2 million euros, after previously being linked to the Effzeh, among other things. The people of Domstadt are said to have been interested in signing the midfielder in the winter and apparently wanted to make a new move in the summer. However, Sporting got ahead of them.
After signing, Andersen said: “The city is very nice and I went to the Cristiano Ronaldo Academy, which also looks very good. Sporting play in European competitions every year, are back in the UEFA Champions League and a fantastic step for younger players to develop.” At the Lions, Andersen is continuing the legacy of his compatriots Peter Schmeichel, Morten Hjulmand and Conrad Harder, all of whom are national champions with Sporting: “They are big names and I want to do justice to that. I have to do my best.”
