Reconstruction begins
96 Stadium receives new seats – the old ones are given away
June 8, 2026 – 5:05 p.mReading time: 2 minutes
Hannover 96 is replacing the seating shells in the stadium – for 1.2 million euros. Fans can pick up the old bowls free of charge.
The Heinz-von-Heiden-Arena will shine in the club colors black, white and green next season: the home stadium of Hannover 96 receives new seat shells. The first were exchanged on Monday, as the club announced. Accordingly, the renovation will cost a total of around 1.2 million euros.
Björn Bremer, managing director of the 96 Arena, is quoted in the press release: “The schedule has been worked out very carefully and of course coordinated with the concerts. I’m looking forward to seeing how our arena changes its appearance little by little.”
Visitors to pop star Helene Fischer’s concert on June 7th can see the stadium in the old and new design at the same time. The event essentially marks the halfway point of the renovation project.

Seat shells are given away: the dates
96 fans have to say goodbye to the old, predominantly blue seats. Not all of them, however, because anyone who wants can get hold of the old bowls for free. Hannover 96 has now set the first collection dates for this. Holders of a season ticket for the 2025/26 season and members of official 96 fan clubs can secure seats on Saturday, June 27th from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

On Tuesday, June 30th, this is possible for members of Hannover 96 in addition to the groups of people mentioned above between 12 p.m. and 8 p.m. Access is via the north entrance. Appropriate proof is required for collection (season ticket/membership card).
As soon as the seating in the remaining areas of the stadium has been replaced, another collection date will follow (probably at the end of July/beginning of August). It will then be open to all Hannover 96 fans. In addition, around 6,000 seats have already been requested from more than 70 clubs in the region.
