Alarming WWF research: Dutch rivers are polluting and drying out, endangering our drinking water

The recovery of Dutch freshwater nature is stalling and this can also have consequences for our own drinking water. Biologist and WNF ambassador Mátyás Bittenbinder warns about this during the presentation of the Living Planet Report Netherlands 2026 in the Biesbosch, the largest freshwater tidal area in Europe.
