The project is an initiative of Go Ocean and is part of a broader approach in which infrastructure is used to support nature. The Delhaize Fund finances 15 of the 40 blocks, representing an investment of more than 50,000 euros. Other partners are also participating in the project.
North Sea
According to the initiators, such an investment is necessary because the North Sea has lost many natural ecosystems in recent decades due to intensive shipping, fishing and the construction of infrastructure. They want to strengthen biodiversity again and make the sea more resilient with targeted projects.
