France gained confidence in the last match before the World Cup on Monday evening. Thanks to a hat trick from Michael Olise Les Bleus defeated Northern Ireland: 3-1.
Olise is in good shape, just before the World Cup. The Bayern Munich winger showed this especially with his third goal.
He dribbled in and curled the ball beautifully into the right corner. It was reminiscent of the goals that his predecessor Arjen Robben scored so often.
France got off to a strong start, but failed to capitalize on many opportunities. Kylian Mbappé was much sought after. The Real Madrid striker saw his goal disallowed for offside in the 21st minute.
Olise scored a goal just before half time that was valid: 1-0. Immediately after the break he added another goal. Northern Ireland returned the favor in the 64th minute through Patrick Kelly, but it turned out not to be a prelude to a stunt. Olise decided the match in the 74th minute: 3-1.
France starts the World Cup against Senegal on June 16. Didier Deschamps’ team is also in the group with Iraq and Norway.
