Athletes injured by possible Ironman sabotage in Hamburg: hundreds of metal splinters on the road

Hundreds of metal splinters were allegedly deliberately strewn on the road during the cycling part of the Ironman European Championship in Hamburg, the German newspaper Bild reports. Between 100 and 150 athletes suffered a flat tire, some athletes even sustained injuries. The Hamburg police have started an investigation due to suspected sabotage.
