Yle’s evening news broadcast had a technical problem.

Yle’s weather maps were missing at half past nine from the newscast on monday night.
Anne Borgström started the weather part of the news broadcast with a photo taken by a reader from Orivede in the background.
When Borgström started reading the weather report, he tried to click on the weather maps. However, nothing happened and the reader’s image did not fade.
– Today the temperature rose a little over twenty-five degrees, and… Borgström started and stopped when pressing the button didn’t produce any results.
Borgström was silent for several seconds and tried to press the button several times.
– Yeah, he said and continued reading the weather report as usual.
The reader’s photo was in Borgström’s background throughout the weather section and no weather maps were displayed at all.
Iltalehti reached Yle’s technology director Janne Yli-Äyhön. He suspects that the fault was caused by the weather system getting stuck. He does not have more detailed information on the matter, but according to Yli-Äyhö it is hardly a bigger problem.
