Wilfred Genee can finally make something else besides Today Inside: he will appear on TV in the summer with a program in which he interviews celebrity couples. “Mediocre guest list.”
It has been Wilfred Genee’s wish for years: to create a different program than just Today Inside. SBS 6 finally gives him the chance to shine on prime time with a series in which he interviews love couples, namely ‘Mi Dushi: What is love?’ Each episode focuses on one couple. Will this be a hit?
‘Disappointing’
Private boss Evert Santegoeds is critical. He is not impressed with the guest list. The five love couples are Patty Brard and Antoine van de Vijver, Tanja Jess and Charly Luske, Natasja and René Froger, Carry and Geert-Jan Knoops and Remy and Renate Bonjasky. And according to him, the Netherlands will not stay home for that.
He is a bit disappointed, he says in the podcast Strictly Private. “I don’t know. I don’t like the couples… Yes, do I want to know everything about Tanja Jess and Charly Lüske? I don’t think there are many very surprising people among them.”
“I have tips!”
Doesn’t he find any of the couples interesting? Evert: “Knoops is of course funny, because: what is going on in that marriage? We know a lot about Patty Brard and not so much about her husband Antoine, but I don’t know whether he will tell us much. I had a quick look at the guests before I traveled to Curaçao.”
He concludes: “It will depend a lot on the success of this season whether there will be a second one, but then he can call me. Then I will have some surprising names for him.”
