With ten goals and nine assists in 33 Bundesliga games, Fisnik Asllani from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim conjured up a very strong season on the pitch in 2025/26 – and supposedly put himself in the focus of Borussia Dortmund. Rumors about the 23-year-old and BVB have been circulating for weeks, and now the speculation has been given new fuel.
As “Bild” claims to have learned, BVB is “continuing to work intensively” with Fisnik Asllani from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim. Internally, according to the newspaper, the 23-year-old is said to have been chosen as the “top option” in Dortmund should Serhou Guirassy or Karim Adeyemi turn their backs on the Black and Yellows in the summer.
According to the report, Borussia are said to have recently sought contact with Asllani’s entourage. In addition, the Kosovo national player (16 games/4 goals) can “very well imagine” a commitment to the Ruhr area.
However, a deal will only come about if there is movement at BVB on the exit side.

The exciting thing is that Asllani is said to have an exit clause in his contract, which runs until the end of June 2029, which allows clubs that have played in the Champions League in the last three years to buy him for 30 million euros. Everyone else would only have to pay 25 million euros.
BVB, for whom the higher sum would apply, could quickly land replacements in the event of a tempting offer for Adeyemi or Guirassy.
However, there is a catch: BVB is by no means the only club showing interest in Asllani. Among other things, “Bild” says RB Leipzig is specifically interested.
However, new sports director Ole Book could prove to be the ace up Borussia’s sleeve. The 40-year-old already knows Asllani from their time together at SV Elversberg.
