The lawyer wonders why R. suddenly started naming names, while he did not do so during the first investigation five years ago. “He strikes around and tries to divert attention. He calls witnesses, tries to influence people. I see contradictions.”
T. had previously been identified by the police, but there was not enough evidence to arrest him. He was finally arrested on February 25. A weapon was said to have been found on him, but it has not been linked to the series of robberies.
Last year Jeffrey T. was involved in a serious incident. He ‘fell thirteen meters’ from a metro station in Amsterdam and broke his jaw and several bones in his body. According to the police, he fled when officers wanted to arrest him for several traffic violations. T. denies that.
Other new suspects arrested
In addition to T., an Amsterdam resident (40) was also arrested on March 17, 2026 for involvement in the robbery gang. He will appear in court for the first time on June 22. A third new suspect is a 45-year-old man from Zaandam. He may await the investigation in freedom.
There are ten suspects in total.
Three men, from Alkmaar, Heerhugowaard and Belgium, have been irrevocably convicted in 2023 and 2024. Suspect Monte V. – the alleged weapons supplier of the group and tipster for victims’ addresses – has died.
