Sergio Perez got a penalty.
Fernando Alonso achieved a World Championship point. It hardly cheers up the two-time world champion much. PDO
For Sergio Perez a 10-second time penalty was issued after the Monaco GP.
The reason for the penalty is the incorrect placement on the starting grid at the restart of the race. The right front tire of Perez’s car was outside the starting grid.
A small mistake had huge consequences. The penalty is that Cadillac loses the first World Championship point in its history.
It rises to the tenth place Fernando Alonso. So the first point of the season for the Spaniard, who is struggling with a miserable equipment, came with a referee’s decision.
On top of that, Alonso’s team Aston Martin rose ahead of Cadillac in the Manufacturers’ World Series thanks to the point awarded to it.
The jury had a lot of work to do in the Monaco competition. Punishments were handed out randomly. There were even more things to investigate.
Those who finished second and third in the race Lewis Hamilton and Isaac Hadjar could breathe a sigh of relief. They were acquitted by the jury.
