Maxime Meiland has thrown everything she has online. She gives a real one in a video on Instagram house tourbut of course not everyone likes it. “This goes way too far.”
It does surprise celebrity expert Bart Ettekoven: the Meilandjes kept shouting that they never want more recordings in their private environment now that they have moved to their new family home. They wanted to keep it all a bit more private. Well, Maxime Meiland certainly seems to be coming back from that now, because he really shows everything.
Meiland joke
Bart thinks it’s strange. “Do you know that joke about the Meilandjes who wanted to disappear completely anonymously into privacy in a newly built house in Noordwijk where we were not allowed to look inside? Today we can see everything. You can see everything! From the toilet to the bathroom to the bedroom to where the litter box is.”
Colleague Tooske Ragas likes it. “Looking into people’s homes is always fun and I read the comments below and everyone has something to say about it.”
‘It goes too far’
Show expert Eline de Ruig thinks the comments below the video go way too far. “Yes, that doesn’t make any sense at all. That really goes way too far, I think. People are really burning down the whole house.”
“It may not be to your taste, but I think it is beautiful. People say: ‘Where is the mess? Why do you have a box bed? Why do those two children sleep in one room when you have such a big house?’”
‘Very annoying’
Bart thinks that Maxime should not worry much about that. “Yes, but people are just very annoying on Instagram. At least, not all of them, also very sweet. But I also touched on that litter box.”
What’s with that litter box? “I thought: you have such a big house and where do we put the litter box? We put it almost under the dining table! You are sitting down to eat, you have the smell of a delicious dish and then you hear the cat scratching and the smell comes straight from that cupboard. I thought that was an illogical place and I would have done it differently.”
Own room
Bart also recognizes the criticism of the room for Maxime’s daughters. They now sleep next to each other in a box bed, which he says is not practical.
“I think they will have to start renovating soon, because those daughters have one attic together, but of course they will soon reach an age where they just want their own room.”
