It will be 100 years since the birth of Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe. New information has been revealed about the life of the tragically dead star.

Marilyn Monroe was a big screen sex symbol whose private life is still being discussed. PDO

Don’t you know that a man’s wealth is like a girl’s beauty? You might not marry a girl just because she’s pretty, but oh well, doesn’t that help?

This is one of Marilyn Monroe’s most famous lines in the movie Gentlemen like light-blooded peoplewhich came out in 1953. In the musical comedy, Lorelei, played by Monroe, pursues wealth through the marriage trade. However, the groom’s father does not take kindly to the money from the bride-to-be.

The fast-paced comedy is a perfect example of how Monroe was not just a sex symbol, but a talented actress.

Off the big screen, the public’s attention was drawn to the twists and turns of her private life, which included several failed relationships with men.

Monroe married writer Arthur Miller in June 1956. The couple’s happiness did not last, and they divorced already in 1961. Now more new details about the couple’s life have been revealed. Published this spring The Arthur Miller Tapes: A Life in His Own Words –the book paints a stark picture of Monroe’s mental well-being. The book is written by Christopher Bigsby, who has done a biography of Miller.

Father figure

– Death was always his [Monroen] on their shoulders. Always, Miller states on the tape.

The ex-husband says that if he hadn’t taken care of Monroe, the actress would have met a “catastrophic end”. Miller recalls a time when an actor had taken an overdose and a doctor had to be called to the scene.

– So I felt that he [Monroe] was in a very sensitive psychological state. As it turned out, it took a few years, but it happened.

Monroe did not have children, but suffered from miscarriages and ectopic pregnancy. According to Miller, the couple sought help from a doctor, but to no avail. According to the ex-husband, motherhood and the pressures created by Hollywood might have been an impossible combination for Monroe.

– In a way, I’m not sure how good having a child would have been for her. That would have been an additional problem. I’m not sure how that would have worked in practice.

Miller has described Monroe’s mental well-being as fragile. The couple’s happiness ended after the movie The Misfits. PDO

Miller had realized shortly after the wedding that he had made a mistake.

– I wasn’t really prepared for what I should have prepared for. He had literally no inner strength at all. She wanted a father, a lover, a friend, an agent, most of all, someone who would never criticize her for anything or she would lose her confidence in herself. I don’t know if such a person exists, Miller reflected in the interview.

Smart woman

Miller describes Monroe as an intelligent woman with a great sense of humor. However, he noticed that paranoia took over the actor.

– He began to suspect everyone of abusing or harming him, Miller said.

Miller recalls an incident when Monroe suspected that director Laurence Olivier was stalking her on the set of a movie. Miller defended the director, which was poison to Monroe.

The couple’s relationship took a significant turn when Monroe was filming Misfits-film that Miller had scripted. When the filming was over, the couple’s relationship had also come to an end.

– We didn’t talk to each other. There was no way to approach him. He was genuinely hostile towards me.

Miller thought Monroe was an intelligent woman with a great sense of humor. PDO

Tragic ending

On Sunday morning, August 5, 1962, the world heard the sad news. The beloved actor had been found dead in his home in Los Angeles. Monroe was only 36 years old when he died.

Details of the star’s death soon became public.

The star’s body had been naked on the bed and a landline telephone handset was hanging in his hand. An autopsy revealed that Monroe had died of an overdose of sedatives. The cause of death was marked as probable suicide.

The Misfits movie was the last movie of Marilyn Monroe and Clark Gable. PDO

Monroe made his last phone call on Saturday night, August 4th. On the other end of the phone was his friend Peter Lawford. In retrospect, the conversation feels chilling.

– Say goodbye to Pat, say goodbye to Jack (President John F. Kennedy) and say goodbye to yourself because you’re a nice guy.

Speculation and conspiracy theories about Monroe’s death have circulated for decades. However, one thing is certain: Monroe’s legend will never die.
