Two professionals not from top leagues

The transfer market updates in the major leagues have been completed and this traditionally results in a new picture in the ranking of the 100 most valuable footballers worldwide: with a market value of 50 million euros, they are at the bottom end in June 2026, while at the top there is only a duo with 200 million euros due to the devaluation of Real star Kylian Mbappé. The five top leagues provide a total of 98 of the 100 most valuable players, with only Galatasaray’s Victor Osimhen and Porto’s Victor Froholdt earning their money elsewhere. With 52 professionals, the Premier League has more than half of all players in the ranking, followed by LaLiga (17), Ligue 1 (13), Bundesliga (11) and Serie A (5).

When it comes to clubs, Arsenal has the most professionals (11), ahead of PSG (10) and Manchester City (9). Real Madrid has 8 players in the ranking, Bayern, Barcelona, Chelsea and Liverpool each have 7.

There are 13 players worldwide with a market value of more than 100 million euros. After the Ligue 1 update, this now includes four professionals from reigning Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain, which now has the most valuable squad in the world. With João Neves, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Vitinha, a PSG trio is among the top ten. Although the Premier League is the most valuable league in the world, there is only one player from England’s top flight, Erling Haaland. The same applies to the Bundesliga, for which Bayern’s Michael Olise is flying the flag. The remaining five players come from the Spanish top duo FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Haaland and Lamine Yamal are jointly the most valuable players in the world, worth 200 million euros each. The Spaniard is ranked first due to his lower age. The market values of both players remained unchanged after the English Premier League and LaLiga updates – after individually outstanding seasons. Lamine Yamal led Barcelona to the title with 42 goals in all club competitions, while Norwegian World Cup winner Haaland scored 38 goals in 52 games for Manchester City.

Mbappé, however, is no longer part of the absolute elite as he received a devaluation of 20 million euros as part of the LaLiga update. Despite a strong individual season with 42 goals in 44 games, the Frenchman failed to win a title with the Royals. His decline in market value was mainly due to age and factors off the pitch.
