The extraordinary elective general assembly meeting of Fenerbahçe Sports Club started at the Chobani Stadium Fenerbahçe Şükrü Saracoğlu Sports Complex. On the first day of the meeting, the board of directors’ activity report and the audit board report will be read. The activities of the current chairman and members of the board of directors between the 01.06.2025 – 21.09.2025 financial period and the 22.09.2025 – 28.02.2026 financial period will be submitted to the votes of the general assembly members separately for acquittal. Following the items on the agenda, the chairpersons and members of the ballot box committees will be elected.
On the other hand, Şekip Mosturoğlu was elected as the chairman of the council with the votes of the congress members to manage the election.
Speaking to the members at the beginning of the meeting, Fenerbahçe Press Spokesperson Ali Gürbüz said, “Every vote to be cast will be a part of Fenerbahçe’s democracy. The common denominator is the love of Fenerbahçe. This love is greater than our differences of opinion. I believe that at the end of this general assembly, the winner will be Fenerbahçe, not any group. I hope for a general assembly where mutual respect for the deep-rooted traditions of our club, common sense and sportsmanship prevail.”
THERE WAS TENSION
There was a short-term tension at the Fenerbahçe congress. After the incident, Şekip Mosturoğlu said, “The situation in Block D is very bad. This situation happened in 2018, 2024 and 2025 and we could not prevent it. If we encounter the same situation, we will adjourn the meeting. If you do not want it to be adjourned, do not engage in such behavior. As the Board of Directors, if the incident continues, we will stop the meeting.” He made a statement.
THE CONGRESS WAS SUSPENDED
After Şekip Mosturoğlu’s warning, mutual chants on behalf of Aziz Yıldırım and Hakan Safi started to increase again. Thereupon, Mosturoğlu took a break from the general assembly and said, “I will have to take a break. I will not warn you again. Either sit down or I will take a break. We are going inside, you continue cheering.” he said.
“WE HAVE 5 MINUTES OR…”
After the break in the congress, Şekip Mosturoğlu said, “There are people who entered our stadium without permission. I will not start the general assembly unless they leave. There are security risks here. These unauthorized friends will either come out themselves or be removed by police force. We have 5 minutes. Otherwise, the general assembly will really get into trouble.” He made a statement.
