How lucky can you be? For the second time in two years, the street prize of the Postcode Lottery falls on the same postcode in Breda. In January 2024 it was also available for zip code 4818RL. Then everyone at the Boeimeerhof who played along was allowed to divide one million euros between themselves. On Friday it happened again, 48 winners received no less than € 1,650,000, which is € 25,000 per ticket. One of the lucky ones also received a brand new BMW.
“Good afternoon Breda”, echoes between the houses on the Boeimeerhof just after five on Friday afternoon. Gaston Starreveld has just walked down the street in his trusty red body warmer and is carrying a large stack of gold envelopes. For him, a large group of lucky ones, almost all of whom won prizes for the second time in a short time.
Netty and Ad have just left the hospital and don’t know what will happen to them the second time. “I broke my hip and was in the hospital for seven weeks and my husband Ad was also in the hospital,” says Netty, visibly emotional. “It is unbelievable and unbelievable that this is happening again, last time we gave a lot of the money to the grandchildren and we are going to do that again now,” says Ad.
“I’m going on holiday next week and in a week I will never spend the 25,000 euros.”
When everyone has a golden envelope, Gaston counts down and everyone checks to see which prize they have won. Angelique almost falls backwards from her walker when she sees the amount. “75,000 euros and my wife also has three lottery tickets,” she says, visibly upside down. “In January 2024 we were all allowed to divide a million, but this time it is much more, this is really a lot of money,” adds her wife Kitty. “In any case, it is very nice to live here, we are very happy and to win a prize for the second time is unbelievable. Together the couple wins € 150,000.

“It’s a lucky street, so if there’s a house for sale, this is where you have to go.”
As if it weren’t enough, a car is also given away and it ends up with Agneta from number 50. “We were just going to take a test drive for a new car tomorrow,” she shouts through her tears when she is handed the key. “I was already very happy, but this is the icing on the cake. It is already very special that we are all here together for the second time, I have no words for it now that we also have a car. Everyone wishes it to each other here in the street. Last time I went on a cruise to the Caribbean with the money, I don’t know yet what we are going to do now, at least we don’t have to buy a car with it.

Floor, Kataline’s daughter, already knows what they are going to do first: shopping. “It’s really amazing that it’s possible for the second time. We almost gave up, but luckily we didn’t. It’s a lucky street, so if there’s a house for sale, this is where you have to go,” says Kataline, laughing. “I’m going on holiday next week and in a week I will never spend the 25,000 euros.”
