BMO Field in Toronto is one of two Canadian venues for the 2026 World Cup. During the tournament, the arena bears the name Toronto Stadium. The German national team will meet Ivory Coast here.

The stadium is located in Exhibition Place directly on the shore of Lake Ontario. It was opened in 2007 and is one of the younger arenas in the tournament field. The facility was recently converted and expanded for the World Cup.

On June 20th The German national team will meet the team from Ivory Coast here. Even though you would expect to be in cooler climes after the game in Houston, it will be relatively hot on the pitch. The station in Texas is air-conditioned, the one in Ontario is not, which can lead to temperatures of up to 30 degrees in the field.

These World Cup games will take place at Toronto Stadium:

  • Group B: Canada vs. Bosnia-Herzegovina (June 12)
  • Group L: Ghana vs. Panama (June 17)

  • Group D: Senegal vs. Iraq (June 26)
  • Round of 16: Second Group I vs. Second Group L (2.7.)

World Cup 2026: Home of Toronto FC

BMO Field is the home of Toronto FC of Major League Soccer and the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League. The use by two leagues with different requirements also shapes the construction of the stadium.

For the World Cup, among other things, the playing field and infrastructure will be adapted to meet FIFA requirements. This includes changes to the lawns and stadium equipment.
