Harri Heliövaara and Henry Patten are playing in the final match of the French Open doubles.
The Finnish-British pair beat France in the semi-final Quentin Halys and Pierre-Hugues Herbertn straight in two sets 6–3, 6–4.
Heliövaara and Patten have not lost a single match in this year’s tournament.
The victory and survival to the final means that Heliövaara and Patten become number one in the doubles world rankings for the first time in their careers.
Finns have been able to achieve the same feat Henri Kontinen in 2017.
In the final match to be played on Saturday, Heliövaara and Patten will face the winner of the match Horacio Zeballos/Marcel Granollers–Simone Bolelli/Andrea Vavassori.
