“Like everyone else, we know what it is like to live with cancer or with someone who has or has had cancer.” Wilma herself was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002 and her friend lost her father to the disease, which is why they climb Mt. Tomorrow.

The team organized various actions to raise money. Walks, baking cakes, an après-ski party, a flower campaign and brewing your own beer. “Our target amount was 15,000 euros, but we are now already above 23,000 euros,” says Wilma Hilhorst.

Tomorrow the six will climb the mountain together. Not at speed, but as a group. “It seems very steep and high, but you know what you are doing it for. We wait for each other in the bends and cross the finish line together.”

Mark Zuidema from Assen cycles in memory of his grandfather, who died of lymphatic cancer, and of his friend Arno, who died of a rare form of cancer. “I take them with me in my thoughts.”
