The wife of the deceased bus driver in the Buggenhout tragedy says that she was “absolutely unaware of any complaints” about her husband. After testimonies emerged last week from former bus conductors and surviving students about alleged reckless driving behavior, she responded through her lawyer John Maes: “She does not recognize Noureddine in that image at all.” The woman currently lives with her five children in Algeria, where she buried her husband. Her lawyer asks for more caution while the investigation is ongoing.
