1. FC Köln can continue to plan with Jakub Kaminski (23) – at least for the time being. The billy goats have taken out the purchase option for the loan from VfL Wolfsburg and have given him a long-term contract, reportedly until 2029. A transfer fee of 5.5 million euros will go to the wolves, but Kaminski could still be lost to Cologne for a good four times that amount.

The Polish winger collected twelve scorer points in the past Bundesliga season. Statistically, this is by far the best season since his €10 million transfer from Lech Posen to Wolfsburg in the summer of 2022. Things went less smoothly for Kaminski there; he needed three seasons at VfL to achieve the same number of goals. The market value of the 30-time national player fell from 10 million to 5 million euros before he went to FC.

In the cathedral city, Kaminski found his old form and increased his market value to his career high of 17 million euros. He was not only the long-running favorite among Cologne’s outfield players, but also among the entire Bundesliga attackers. Kaminski completed 3,023 of 3,060 possible minutes. His performances have long since brought him back into the focus of larger clubs. The Pole has secured an exit clause just in case.

For the time being, FC fans don’t have to worry about a quick farewell. After “Kicker” information An interested party would have to put a little more than 20 million euros on the table in order to get rid of Kaminski. A sum that would make him Cologne’s second most expensive departure behind Anthony Modeste (29 million euros) and that only wealthy clubs from the Premier League, for example, would invest.

In addition to the Wolfsburg player, FC has also signed Tom Krauß (24, Mainz) on loan. Groundbreaking talks will soon be held with Jahmai Simpson-Pusey (20, Man City). Cenk Özkacar (25, Valencia), Felipe Chávez (19, FC Bayern) and Kristoffer Lund (24, Palermo), however, will return to their parent clubs. In addition, seven Cologne players are now coming back from their loans.
