The meritorious football coach is currently undergoing cancer treatment.
Kenny Dalglish is remembered, among other things, as Liverpool’s coach. PDO
Scottish former footballer and football coach Kenneth Mathieson “Kenny” Dalglish is sick with cancer.
75-year-old Dalglish confirms it on his own Instagram account.
– As the social media update I unintentionally published revealed, I am currently undergoing cancer treatments. Unlike using my cell phone, the treatment is going well.
So Dalglish had no intention of talking about his health publicly.
– Ideally, this would have remained a private matter, as it should be, but my lousy technical skills have forced me to tell the matter publicly.
– Once again, I thank the wonderful healthcare professionals who have shown incredible care and sensitivity – not only to me but to many, many others. They are a credit to the industry.
Dalglish is Scotland’s most capped footballer of all time. He represented his country a total of 102 times, scoring 30 goals.
At club level, he played for Celtic FC between 1969 and 1977, winning four Scottish titles during that time.
From Celtic he moved to Liverpool and in 1985 he was chosen as the team’s player coach. In total, Liverpool played 515 games, in which he scored 172 goals.
Dalglish later coached Blackburn and led the team to the Premier League title in 1995. His coaching career ended in 2012.
