Festivals and football combined: Rock im Park and Rock am Ring are launching an exclusive World Cup shirt with the DFB – as a warm-up to the World Cup.
The Rock im Park and Rock am Ring take place close to the start of the Football World Cup. Just a few days separate the two major events from June 5th to 7th from the first game of the group phase on June 11th. Lucky for everyone who has two hearts beating – one for the ball, one for the bass – because you are spared the agony of choosing between public viewing and festival headliner. In addition, the network on the festival grounds would be hopelessly overloaded by live streamers who are also keeping track of the score while headbanging.
Football fever at the festival site
All of that is spared – thanks to the football and festival gods. But the football fever can’t be completely driven away from the festival grounds: Rock im Park and Rock am Ring are starting a cooperation with the DFB this year. With an exclusive festival shirt for the World Cup, they want to build a bridge between football and festival culture. The Eifel and Nuremberg become the warm-up for the World Cup so that the celebrations can continue right next weekend. For the partners, the collaboration is all about one thing: community, euphoria and a sense of belonging. All qualities that both football fans and festival goers would take note of.
Team pride in the mosh pit
The only problem is that there will certainly be supporters from other teams at Rock im Park and Rock am Ring. They may feel tempted to also show their colors. The idea of community could definitely turn into competitive thinking. Be careful when a fan in a Brazil jersey deliberately steps on the feet of a fan in a DFB shirt in the mosh pit – or the white jersey sings off-key into the yellow one’s ear.
There are no pictures of the DFB festival shirt yet. Maybe it’s also a nice souvenir for non-footballers: of a great festival weekend and a summer full of mass euphoria. We wish you a peaceful Rock in the Park, Rock at the Ring and a successful World Championship – no matter who you are.
