The National Women’s Volleyball Team, which will take part in the 2026 FIVB Nations League (VNL), will fight to win the organization once again after 2023. The national team will take to the court in Brazil on June 3-8 in the first stage of the tournament, whose regular season will consist of three legs. The crescent-star team, which will host the second stage in Ankara on 17-21 June, will be in Japan on 8-12 July for the third stage matches.
If the national team finishes among the top 8 teams in the league stage of the VNL, in which a total of 18 teams will take part, it will enter the finals to be held in China on July 22-26.
AT THE TOP IN 2023
The National Women’s Volleyball Team succeeded in winning the VNL in 2023. In the Women’s Nations League, which will be held for the 8th time this season, the star and crescent team won the championship by beating China 3-1 in the final played in Arlington, Texas, USA in 2023.
While the national team won the silver medal in 2018, it won the bronze medal in 2021. Türkiye, one of the most successful teams in the organization, finished fourth in 2019 and 2022. The crescent-star team lost 3-2 to Japan in the quarter-finals last year.
ONLY 3 COUNTRIES WON
Only 3 countries in history have won the FIVB Women’s Nations League.
In the organization held since 2018, USA and Italy have 3 championships each, and Türkiye has 1 championship.
VOLLEYBALL FESTIVAL IN ANKARA
National Women’s Volleyball Team will meet volleyball fans in the capital Ankara in the second stage of VNL.
In addition to Türkiye, countries that have a say in women’s volleyball such as Germany, China, France, Brazil and Belgium will participate in the stage on June 17-21 at Ankara Sports Hall.
Türkiye will play against Belgium on June 17, France on June 18, Germany on June 20, and China on June 21 in the matches in Ankara.
