Lidberg should provide a similar overall financial package to Tabakovic, why not bring him in?
Because it is assumed that Kleindienst will be fit and Tabakovic has a profile that is too similar.
With Lindberg you get someone who can also be served flat through the middle and, more importantly, who can also hang up well. If you want options and force, a storm with Kleindienst and Lindberg would be difficult to calculate and ideally staffed, at least for Gladbach’s resources.
But doesn’t Machino have exactly the same role? It goes without saying that it didn’t work for Gladbach last season, but who apart from Nicolas, Tabakovic and maybe a few others in the beginning (Sander, Scally, Reitz) has?
Lidberg is certainly the better finisher, but is probably inferior to Machino with the ball in terms of playmaking qualities. In the end, for a hefty sum you would get a player who has a different profile but would probably take on a similar role to Machino. Except that Machino has actually already proven his suitability for the Bundesliga with Holstein, while Lidberg hasn’t. They are both very good 2nd division strikers rather than I think they will bring Gladbach close to Europe. But let’s see…
Machino has playmaking quality? But most of the time they tried to get him into finishing situations in the 16s (which unfortunately only worked three times). I found Machino mostly technically very weak, which I was very surprised about, or does he have such blatant passing skills that I haven’t seen before? Of course I’m only evaluating the one season at Gladbach, is he perhaps being used incorrectly?
Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with Machino, which is also due to high expectations, but to be honest, replacing the recent transfer Alassane Pléa is not an easy task.
I think Lidberg would be interesting, it would be a good addition/reinforcement for the storm.
