The Swedish clothing retailer Lager 157 is continuing its expansion in Germany. On Monday, the company announced that it would open a new branch in Cologne on June 11th.

This is the fourth location for the brand in this country. After entering the market with a store in Bremen at the end of 2024, stores have since been added in Kaiserslautern and Hanover.

At the same time, the opening in Cologne is a first for Lager 157. For the first time in Germany, the clothing retailer is not moving to a shopping mall, but to a popular shopping street. In the centrally located Zeppelinstrasse, the basics specialist will in future use premises with a sales area of around 2,000 square meters, which extends over two floors. A branch of the shoe retailer Görtz was located there until the summer of 2023.

The opening in Cologne is “the company’s next strategic step – and at the same time the first store in North Rhine-Westphalia, the most populous federal state in Germany,” explained Lager 157 in a statement. Founder and CEO Stefan Palm explained the background to the expansion. “We believe that there is a market for us in Germany. And we believe in stationary retail,” he emphasized.
