Noise, dirt and chaos – isn’t that part of rock’n’roll? The city of Nuremberg sees things a little differently and has concrete ideas about how a large rock festival like Rock im Park can run in an orderly manner – with new and old rules.

Complaint one: noise

Can the bass now only boom at half volume? Of course not. It is common practice for certain volume limits to apply at open-air festivals such as Rock im Park. An expert on the festival side regularly transmits the measured values to the public order office. If the frequencies are too loud, the organizer has to turn it down. At the end of the weekend, a detailed overview of the festival’s volume levels will be available.

In order to continue to give residents an open ear despite the cap, there is also a complaint hotline. Wind direction and weather conditions can increase the perception of loudness. Nuremberg residents are still allowed to report to the public order office – on 0911/8186-174.

Complaint two: dirt

The complaint telephone is not just intended for noise complaints. Other problems can also be reported there – such as the issue of garbage and wild camping. Any waste left behind in the event areas will be neatly cleared away by those responsible for the festival. But irregular festival visitors have increasingly become a problem in recent years. Instead of camping in the designated areas within the site, we camped on public meadows and parking lots – set up the tent, park the camper, and that’s it. The garbage left lying around, sometimes loud party music and wild peeing became a nuisance for residents. All these complaints can now be passed on directly to the hotline.

In addition, there is an express ban on camping in public areas around the festival at the Zehnteich: no tents, no caravans, no grills, no fire pits. The ban applies from Thursday, June 4th at midnight until Monday, June 8th at midnight. Anyone who camps anyway and does not take down their tent immediately upon instructions from the responsible authorities will have to expect the camping equipment to be removed for a fee and fines. It makes more sense to use the festival’s own campsites or the specially designated camping and motorhome areas.

Celebrate without chaos

The city of Nuremberg has developed very concrete measures to contain the rock chaos. Because celebrating can also work in such a way that others don’t feel too disturbed – and the fun remains for everyone.
